The setting is 1946, Appalachia. A seamstress welcomes home her tailor husband, only to find they are not the team they were. Trying to stitch back together their old life, time and time again it threatens to fall apart – with each of them pulling at the thread.

An Un-Ideal Husband
is a short film based on the Oscar Wilde play of similar name. Co-Written, Directed and Edited by Chad Hylton, this Official Selection of the Big Apple Film Festival is a standalone piece as well as a sample of his feature adaptation, An Honourable Bachelor. Both pieces are a queer take on Wilde's Husband, incorporating inspiration from Wilde's real life as a gay playwright in Victorian England.
